As A-list gigs go, you can’t get much higher than seeing Grammy Award-winning Placido Domingo, dubbed ‘The King of Opera’, perform the opening night of the spectacular new Dubai Opera House. It’s no wonder tickets sold out in less than three hours – faster than any other UAE concert. However, you can now add your name to a waiting list on the venue’s official website and will be informed if additional tickets become available. Even opera novices appreciate the historical significance of this event and it will be the hottest ticket on 31 August, so get your name on the list!

If you don’t manage to be among the lucky 2,000 attending the inaugural extravaganza, there’s a lot more to see – in fact, another 49 concerts in the first four months, to be precise! Ahlan! intends to be on the frow for The Barber of Seville by Rossini, The Pearl Fishers by Bizet, and The Russian State Ballet’s productions of Giselle and Coppélia. Dubai’s culture scene is so en pointe right now!

INFO: Ticket prices start from Dhs200, Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai, dubaiopera.com
