From 21-22 Feb, Dubai Food Carnival will take over Festival City with a celebration of food, drink and entertainment. The carnival will kick-start the first Dubai Food Festival which is a 23-day, city-wide, gourmet-themed celebration designed to enhance Dubai’s position as the region’s gastronomic capital. The event will feature celeb chefs hosting educational culinary masterclasses and workshops, dozens of enticing food pavilions, mouth-watering food tastings and a multi-cultural feast of music.
MasterChef fans can look forward to seeing chef and judge John Torode who'll be competing in a cook-off in The Chef's Dome against Manal Al Alem – the Queen of the Arabic kitchen – and BBC Food-star Silvena Rowe. Other events include the Great Yalla BBQ, a competition sponsored by Weber and the MLA where members of the public compete to be crowned king or queen of the grill. For heat seekers, there's the Extreme Food Challenge involving a marathon chilli eating competition
