Dubai Fashion Week organisers have announced their new Spring/Summer line-up. The newly revamped event will take place over five days from 20 to 24 October at The Arena, Dubai World Trade Centre.
Simon Lock, Creative Director of Dubai Fashion Week, said the event will start to shape the local emerging fashion industry. “Designers need to take the essence of what they’re doing but translate it into silhouettes that can be just as appropriate as they are in Barneys or Lane Crawford as they are here in the Middle East.”
So what can we expect to see on the runway? “I think new and different is going to come from the designer’s embellishment and fabrication which is inherent in what they do, that’s the uniqueness. They need to be on trend. I’m not talking about following trends but I’m talking about being on trend.”
