6,958 students from GEMS school formed the largest human sentence

What better way to get into National Day spirit than breaking a record? The students from GEMS have shown their National Day spirit by forming the largest human sentence that read "Happy National Day".

The record, which was validated by Guinness World Record officials, included 6,958 GEMS students from 35 schools across the UAE. They formed the largest human sentence by positioning themselves across the sports field with the help of their teachers.

In order to break the record students had to wear the same outfits and stand still for five minutes, according to Khaleej Times.

Dino Varkey, Group Executive Director and Board Member of GEMS Education said: "This is more than about breaking a world record. The message for us is about showing our support for the UAE and in celebration of the UAE National Day. More and more one of the things that we realise is that while there are so many different countries and cultures represented in the UAE, we're starting to coalesce around a common culture and a common set of values."

Go big or go home, eh?
