Music heavyweights Drake and Rihanna showed their soft sides this weekend, after a fan, Megan Flores, who met with the two stars earlier this year with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, sadly passed away on Saturday.
Upon hearing the tragic news, Drake took to Instagram to post a picture of the young girl with the caption “Rest in peace my angel. I know heaven is celebrating today. Thank you for the moments and emotions we share. I am blessed to have known you in this lifetime.”
Rihanna also took to social media to express her deep sadness over the teenage girl’s death. The 28-year-old singer shared a photo of herself, Drake and Megan posing together the first time they met.
RiRi then wrote: “I had the pleasure of meeting an angel on earth! After my show in Miami, @ChampagnePapi introduced me to Megan! She’s inspired me so much with her strength and her perspective on life! So fearless and kind!”
She continued: “It’s heavy news that I can't slide in your DMs anymore like I used to!! There was always a smile waiting for me there! You brightened any day! Rest up baby girl! We will miss you!”
An elated Megan met Drake and RiRi back in March as she was battled terminal cancer. Drake later dedicated his album Views to the young girl. He wrote “This body of work is dedicated to Megan Flores. I pray for your well-being every day.”
