Don Your Hat for Sandance!
Nice hat, bit warm though!
Jay Kay from Jamiroquai's likely to be showing off some spectacular hats when he takes to the stage at Sandance on Friday, and organisers want you to wear one too! Anybody who wears a fab hat to the bash on the beach could be spotted and given some free drinks! We can't wait to see what you wear!
Meanwhile, if you missed our Sandance Survival guide, here it is again!

1. Buy Your Ticket Before
Though you can splash out Dhs350 on the door, pick up your ticket before for Dhs295 from or pop along to the Time Out Tickets office at ITP Publishing, Building 14, Dubai Media City and save queuing.

2. Don't Delay
The tunnel traffic on Palm Jumeirah is always bumper-to-bumper around sunset, so be sure to share cars and taxis with your pals, and set off early! Remember the event starts at 3pm, so you can chill-out on Sandance Beach in the afternoon before the party kicks in, rather than missing your fave act ‘cause you’re stuck in a traffic jam.

3. Dress Right
Think casual, festival-style chic. Floaty dresses, shorts and colourful tops and playsuits. Flip flops are an essential. Don’t be the girl with the stilettos wedged in the sand we saw once. Crazy! We also like to take a sarong to sit on earlier in the day, to save getting a sandy behind, whihc is never a good look.

4. Pack your Bag
Take a bag that keeps your hands free for boogying! And also one that can hold cash (cards take longer to pay with a the bar) and your ID, (you have to be over 21 and might be asked to prove it). Team Ahlan! also like to have some wet wipes handy, so if you eat some of the take-away food on offer you can clean your hands without having to go to the loo. But maybe we’re just getting old.

5. Arrange a Meeting Point
A good place to meet at the start of your night, as well as if you lose you pals, is the Toyota studio just beyond the entrance, where you can also pick up festival accessories like sparkling bowler hats and flashing sunnies.

6. Skip to the Loo
Book a table and you’ll get access to a new block of toilets. This means both VIP areas and table areas have their own loos, so there’s going to be shorter queues at the rest of them. Hurrah!

7. Get a Party Pack
Party packs are back, so stock up and avoid lengthy trips to the bar. They cost Dhs1200 and include two 75cl bottles plus mixers.

8. Know Your Set Times
Don’t miss the act you’ve come to see! Here are the all-important times…

5.45pm Chic featuring Nile Rodgers

7.30pm Basement Jaxx

8.30pm Soulninja
