Doing This On UAE Roads Can Now Get You A Dhs1,000 Fine...
Abu Dhabi Police has released a statement today, reminding UAE motorists that failing to give way to a school bus could land them with a hefty Dhs1,000 fine and 10 black points on their licence.
As schools return today from their spring breaks, drivers have been reminded that when the yellow school buses' red STOP signs are displayed, they legally have to give way to the vehicle.
"Failure to comply with the rules means that motorists will be charged with Article 91 of the UAE Traffic Law, which incurs a Dhs1,000 fine and 10 black points,” Brigadier Khalifa Mohammad Al Khaili, director of traffic and patrols directorate in the central operations sector, has said.
"School bus drivers who fail to put the stop sign will be fined Dhs500 and six black points," he added.
