Q. I’m thinking of colouring my hair and updating my look. What’s on trend this season?
A.We are seeing darker one-dimensional monotone colours this summer, so it’s goodbye to ombré! Monochrome brunettes like Kim Kardashian (above) are huge on the catwalks: the look is clean, pure and easy to maintain. One-dimensional colours, when done right, look expensive and polished – not to mention very natural. Redheads are popping up everywhere, too, from copper reds and chestnut reds, to strawberry blonde! Blondes also get an update with a tortoiseshell look which is created with different tones of caramel, honey, toffee and coffee tones. This look is achieved using a technique called ’baby-lights‘, which simply means super-fine strands of highlights are woven throughout your hair to be as subtle as possible - it mimics the sun-kissed tones your hair takes on naturally. There are plenty of on-trend options for you to choose from!

Exercise of the Month
SUMO PUNCH TARGET: Thighs, bottom, quads, tummy and shoulders
Step 1: Stand with your feet wider than shoulder distance apart and your toes pointing slightly outwards. Place your fists by your chin with your elbows by your torso.
Step 2: Bend your knees so that your thighs are parallel to the floor. Your weight should be distributed evenly through your heels to work your glutes. Maintaining the squat position, punch your left fist across your body to your right, while turning your torso in the same direction.
Step 3: Come back to starting position, and do the same thing on the other side. Continue punching for 30 seconds, then come back to standing position. Repeat 3 times.
