Dinner show review: Alice at The Act Dubai
The Act Dubai, the world’s highest theatre club with dining, is known for its spectacular performances and delicious food. And their Alice in Wonderland themed night is no different.
The Act continues its acclaimed dinner show concept, but this time there’s a twist! A dining experience unique to the region, Alice guides you on a magical tour through Wonderland from the comfort (most of the time) of your table. We don’t want to spoil any surprises, but be prepared to move around and end off the night on a different spot from where you started. On that note, be sure to keep your shoelaces tied, unless you want your shoes ending up at a different table on the other side of the room.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday The Act invites you to follow Alice down the rabbit hole and into Wonderland. The experience begins from the moment you arrive in the lobby of the swanky Shangri-La. The classic tale is quickly turned on its head, course-by-course, and table-by-table, and guests are advised to expect the unexpected! With the infamous Cheshire cat, the White Rabbit and, of course, the Mad Hatter all present, havoc is guaranteed. While the show is completely silly and chaotic, the performances by the talented cast are completely mesmerising. From dancing, singing, juggling and acrobatics, it’s a show you won’t easily forget. The attention to detail is superb, and you’ll find yourself wondering where the energetic cast gets all their energy from. In fact, the showstoppers’ energy is so infectious, you can’t help but join in on the madness and fun of it all. Be sure to hang around after the show to have your picture taken with the entire cast in full costume!
The Alice show concept is available every Tuesday and Wednesday evening from 8.00pm until midnight, with the show starting promptly at 9.00pm. The show is expected to run until the end of December 2015, so be sure to catch it before then. Tickets can be purchased for Dhs495 at the door each evening. The ticket price includes an exceptional three course Peruvian set menu, accompanied by a selection of house grapes and soft drinks.
