Dinner Review: The Hide, Madinat Jumeirah
When it comes to meat feasts, Dubai is not short of sensational steakhouses, grills and barbecues, but few feel quite as cool and laidback as The Hide.
On arrival we’re immediately greeted by a buzzing bar, where we treat ourselves to a welcome drink. We then make our way to our spacious booth table.
Then we have a tricky decision to make: what on Earth are we going to eat? We browse the menu, while tucking into the homemade bread.
We opt to try the surf and turf gnocci to begin, along with a portion of onion rings. The gnocci arrives with a huge tiger prawn and generous slices of beef. It’s just enough to whet our appetite for our main course steaks.
Speaking of which, the selection of steaks at The Hide are far from average. You can, of course, opt for classic tenderloin and ribeye cuts. But there is also a selection of forgotten cuts. The Hanger steak, accompanied by a duck egg and caramelised onions, takes our fancy. Cooked exactly as we like it and accompanied with a side of pulled beef potato gratin, it’s a hearty and filling dinner.
We can’t pass up a chance to try the Campfire S’mores for dessert. A super indulgent chocolate and marshmallow sweet arrives, the ideal end to an all-American meal.
