If you’re looking for a real taste of the Amalfi Coast in the UAE, this authentic Italian ristorante is a must for Italian food lovers.
Located on the ground floor of the picturesque Five Palm Jumeirah, the interior decor is upmarket but unpretentious, drawing upon a rustic Italian style with rich terracotta colours that are warm and welcoming. When the weather allows, be sure to ask for an outside table next to the pool for added ambience.

Serving up the delicious classic flavours of southern Italy, including a range of pasta, seafood, grilled and roasted meats, sharing platters, and assorted pastries and desserts, it can be a difficult task to choose dishes off Quattro Passi’s a la carte menu. And that’s exactly why we’ve decided to try out their exciting new tasting menu. The set menu consists of five-courses, kicking off with the Fine de Claire oyster, yuzu pearls and lemon sorbet (fancy!). Now, in all honesty, we’re not the biggest oyster fans, but the lemon sorbet combination is a total triumph. Ideal if you prefer your oyster with added flavour and zest.

Next up is the blue lobster carpaccio, marinated beetroot, crustacean mayonnaise and orange gel. It’s a light and refreshing dish, and perfect if you love cold seafood. That is followed by the agnolotti pasta stuffed with Genovese ragout, slow-cooked beef and basil purée — this is undoubtedly our favourite course on the menu. The meaty pockets of pasta are an Instagrammer’s dream, and they taste even better than they look. Our only complaint? We wish the portions were bigger. For mains, we opt for the corn-fed chicken, parsnip purée, braised baby endives, potato mille feuille and jus (the other option is seabass). It’s a small but hearty dish, bursting with Italian flavours.

By now we’ve had seafood, chicken, beef and pasta (it is a tasting menu, after all), so there’s only one thing left to try – a traditional Italian dessert. And nothing is more traditional than tiramisu, with its mascarpone mousse, coffee biscuit and coffee ice cream. Hands down the best version we’ve tried in the city.

After five fantastic courses, we’ve certainly sampled the best that Quattro Passi (and Italy) has to offer. Besides, life is so much easier when you let the experts make decisions for you.
