Dinner review: Meshico, Palm Jumeirah The Pointe
Simple and tasty. That sums up the surface experience of the authentic Mexican restaurant on the Palm, which opened this August. However, the seamless dining experience is the result of meticulous attention to detail, underscored by the passion for which South America is known.
The interior is designed with Latin flair, in an array of bold colours and chairs upholstered in lush fabrics. The staff are eager to introduce “a taste of Mexico,” with around 90 per cent hailing from the country.
Almost all the ingredients are imported from Mexico and everything is made onsite. Amble over to the kitchen’s viewing area and watch tacos being made, or sit back and enjoy the performance by the incredible mariachi band. From the outdoor dining area, drink in the unobstructed views of Atlantis, The Palm while you eat.
If you’re not sure what to order, let your waiter make a recommendation for a dining experience like no other, but we recommend you save room for the delicious desserts.
Each member of the Meshico team is knowledgeable about the menu; ask them anything.
After dinner, head upstairs to the bar area where you can wow your Instagram followers by posing in front of a decorated wall or take a peek under the tables to see the mandalas.
Meshico is also family friendly; there are plenty of toys available to keep the kids entertained.
In a place like Dubai where many expats have left families behind in their countries, Meshico is designed to feel like home, and a place where you will always be welcome.
