Dinner Review: Brunswick Eatery, Bar & Terrace, Sheraton Mall of the Emirates Hotel
Finding a hidden gem in Dubai is a rare treat, so imagine our joy as we wander into Brunswick Eatery, Bar & Terrace (EBT) on a Thursday night to find a lively but laid-back bar and restaurant.
The eatery has recently been given a bit of a revamp – along with a (slightly) new name, the décor has been updated with a black, dark green and tan colour scheme and Pinterest-perfect exposed lighting, subway tiles and lush plants.
We’re constantly on the lookout for a regular hangout that offers a guaranteed atmosphere, music that you can hold a conversation over, good food and affordable drinks. Brunswick EBT ticks all those boxes. And there are so many amazing dishes to choose from on the Melbourne-inspired bistro’s menu. The summer truffle sourdough pizza, ceviche and tempura cauliflower all stand out when it comes to starters. Naturally we order – and devour – all three.
The truffle pizza is the epitome of indulgence, with a creamy ricotta and pecorino base, and lashings of truffle on top. The ceviche is a balanced, sharp and spicy dish, served with fresh papaya and avocado.
The waitress tells us we can’t leave without trying the Wagyu pastrami, and naturally, we oblige. It’s a generous serving of crazy-tender, slow-cooked meat, served with charred cabbage.
We end our night with a long drink out on the terrace, safe in the knowledge that we’ll be heading back soon.
