Did Taylor Swift Steal Coldplay's Concert Concept?
British rockers Coldplay are changing the flashing wristbands they give out to fans at gigs after Taylor Swift used a similar scheme on her latest tour.
Coldplay spent an estimated $640,000 a night to supply fans with the gadgets that lit up in time to the beat of their music at concerts on their 2011 Mylo Xyloto Tour. Meanwhile, Taylor used a similar concept for her recent 1989 shows, and Chris Martin admits his group is planning to rethink the wristband idea to make sure their upcoming shows are different to Taylor's.
Chris told the Sydney Daily Telegraph: "The Swiftbands? Yeah I saw she was using them, that's cool. "It's been amazing to watch her succeed. But it has meant we have had to update our wristbands, so we're coming up with this new thing... We have to adapt them, make a mark too, otherwise we're copying Taylor."
Coldplay are due to kick off the A Head Full of Dreams tour in Buenos Aires, Argentina in March before trekking across the UK and Europe between May and July.
