Robin Thicke Has Been Issued with a Restraining Order
Ever since Paula Patton and Robin Thicke split back in 2014, there’s been no love lost between the pair. And now, amid a nasty custody battle over the former couple’s young son Julian, Blurred Lines singer Robin has ordered to stay away from both his son and his ex-wife.
Earlier this year, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol actress Paula took former husband Robin to court, alleging that the Blurred Lines hit maker had physically abused their six-year-old son Julian.
Both Robin, 39, and Paula, 41, appeared in court asking for temporary sole custody of Julian, but when presented with a domestic violence restraining order by Patton's lawyers, the motion was approved and Thicke was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Paula, their son, and any of Paula's family members until further notice. Officials at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services have also launched an investigation into Paula’s abuse allegations against Robin.
However, Paula herself is also under investigation, following claims from Robin’s camp that she is guilty of "emotional abuse" of little Julian. Thicke’s lawyers allege that she is intentionally pitting Julian against his father.
Patton’s request for a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-husband comes not long after an incident where Thicke’s attempt to meet up with Julian went wrong. Robin was turned away from Paula’s home and forced to leave the property after the little boy informed police officers that he was afraid of his dad and wanted to stay with his mother.
On top of the allegations that Robin uses physical discipline with their son, Paula has also alleged that throughout their 10-year marriage, Robin physically assaulted her and committed adultery numerous times. She also claims that he has a serious addiction to illegal substances. The pair’s next court hearing is scheduled for 24 February.
