Businessman Dhiraj Saluja has an affinity for Palm Jumeirah; he is so enamoured with the place that when he moves home, he moves within its confines.
The renovation of Dhiraj’s current home, which took he and his wife almost a year and a half to complete, was made easier because they were already living practically next door. This meant that the couple could supervise the project.
They wanted their home to have a classical style, hence the predominance of Althorp furniture (reproductions of pieces found in Althorp in England, childhood home of the late Princess Diana). A particularly special piece is a finely carved Renaissance marble-top console table, the central shield of which features the Spencer coat of arms.
Yet despite the lavish furnishings, the couple like to relax outdoors in their custom-made barbeque area, where the vistas of the Dubai Marina skyline and Burj Al Arab are truly magical.
