Rosa Clara has been designing wedding gowns from the moment she started in the industry. Globally recognised as one of the top wedding designers of the decade, we catch up with Rosa to share in her fairytale career.

When did you first start designing, and did you work under anyone?
15 years ago, after meeting with lots of brides I realised that I could offer something special and different to them and I start designing the collection I wanted to present based on high quality fabrics, good patterns and trends. I have never worked under anyone as designer.

When did you start doing bridalwear?
From the very beginning.

Tell us a bit about your signature style
We only work with natural fabrics, the best embroideries and sequins. The results are very special gowns, which are simple but spectacular.

Your favourite fabrics, colours and styles to work with?
I like to work with all kinds of natural silks and especially all tones of white.

If you had to choose a favourite dress, which one would it be and why.
There is one perfect dress for each bride. It’s difficult to choose one but if I had to choose, I think I would have to say Grace Kelly. The total look on her wedding day was perfect.

What sort of bride wears your gowns?
Elegant brides who love simple lines, without external accessories.

Are there any celebrities that you have designed gowns for?
Paulina Rubio, Mischa Barton, Paris Hilton and Martinha Garcia to name just a few.

Where is Rosa Clara sold?
We have more than 1,500 points of sale all over the world, through our exclusive shops (Dallas, Miami, Costa Rica, Sao Paolo, Panama city, Riyadh or Bahrain) and also through multibrand stores in nearly all the important countries.

One person you would love to design a wedding gown for and why?
It’s very difficult to choose one bride, every bride is important and special.

Where do you get your inspiration and ideas from?
Trends, arts and innovation in fabrics.

Any plans for an accessory line?

We are working on that. It’s coming very soon.
