This is not a drill people, David Beckham is in Dubai!
The football legend's visit has been kept under the radar, but we've got a nose for these things. He was spotted at City Walk over the weekend, and we know exactly why he was there.
The football star has been a Goodwill Ambassador for Unicef since 2005 and flew into Dubai to announce a partnership between the charity organisation and children's store Level Kids, located at City Walk, reports The National.
The partnership will allow customers to make donations to Unicef at Level Kids stores and online, and proceeds go towards helping children all over the world. According to the City Walk website, donations are as follows:
- 50Dhs could buy exercise books and pencils for 25 children.
- 100Dhs could provide polio vaccines to protect 150 children.
- 250Dhs could provide two months of life-saving food for a malnourished child.
- 1000Dhs could provide an education for a child for a whole year.
Not only was Becks doing something for a good cause, the football star also met with none other than Diego Maradona while in the Emirate! Maradona posted a picture of the two on his Instagram page over the weekend, and Beckham did the same, how cute!
