Crown Jewels of Hollywood in Dubai
Want to get a glimpse of the dazzling jewellery once worn by screen siren, Elizabeth Taylor? Christie’s is bringing the 269-piece collection to Dubai for a four-day sale. The range of jewels includes pieces made from diamonds, pearls and gems.
The sales of Elizabeth’s jewellery will run from 13 December to 14 December and are estimated to net a whopping $30 million (Dhs110 million). “From her most jaw-dropping diamonds, gems and one-of-a-kind historic jewels, to cherished ‘It’s Tuesday, I love you gifts’ and never-before-seen keepsakes, Elizabeth Taylor’s magnificent collection of jewels promises to captivate the auction world this fall,” said Marc Porter, Chairman and President of Christie’s Americas. “This is without a doubt the greatest private collection of jewellery ever assembled in one place, and Christie’s is honored to have been entrusted with the global tour of the collection this fall, and the sale of the collection in its entirety this December.”
There will also be a public exhibition in Dubai on Sunday 23 October, 2011 as part of a three-month global tour.
