Cara Delevingne has designed her own collection for American designer brand DKNY. The model, who first started walking for the New York based label two years ago is creating a capsule line for the brand called 'Cara Delevingne for DKNY', which is due to hit UAE stores in November. She told WWD: "I can't believe that some random, rough ideas have finally turned into my own collection...designs with my own name on them and in collaboration with the iconic DKNY brand. It’s so wild to realise that it’s been an entire year since we began planning this project together...goes to show that time does fly when you're having fun."
Cara, who is known for her androgynous style has created the 15 piece collection made up of mostly unisex items, including beanies priced from $70, T-shirts from $150 and a leather motorcycle jacket with removable sleeves for $735. She explained: "They always encouraged my design input, my personal style and my ideas from the very beginning of our working relationship. DKNY is urban and edgy but, most of all, it's individual. They truly embrace the weirdness in all of us, so you can really be yourself."
What’s even more exciting is that not only will Cara appear in the campaign herself but she has also launched a competition on Instagram to find a additional models to join her in modelling the collection. Cara is looking for real women to join her in the campaign, so if you think you’ve got what it takes, all you need to do is upload a photo of yourself with the hashtags #CaraWantsYou and #Cara4DKNY by 16 June.
