Cory Monteith has checked into a rehabilitation centre to deal with his substance addiction issues.
The Glee star, 30, voluntarily sought professional help to face up to his demons, his rep told People.com.
Cory's rep said, "(Monteith) has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery."
Cory, who's dating his Glee co-star Lea Michele, has been open about his drink and drug habit in the past, revealing in 2011 that he had previously checked into rehab when he was 19 years old.
Corey had also revealed in an interview with Parade magazine that his life spun "out of control" after he dropped out of high school at the age of 16. He'd said about his drug use at the time, "Anything and everything, as much as possible."
Girlfriend Lea was supportive of his decision to enter rehab again, tweeting soon after, "Feeling so grateful today." She added later, "I love and support Cory and will stand by
him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision."
There was added support from the Glee team. A rep told E! News, "Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment. Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return."
