Funky urban circus troupe set to thrill with spills and aerial acrobatics

Atop one of the highest heli-pads in Doha, Cirque Éloize gave the media a sneak peek at some of the heart-stopping performances to expect during their Doha shows.

An affiliate of the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil, the modern Canadian-based circus troupe are performing their iD show from Wednesday 2 April to Saturday 5 April at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

With an urban setting for a mix of circus arts, dance and hip hop, the audience will be taken to a world where two rival gangs battle it out to express their iDentity and inDividuality. It’s a show full of energy and acrobatics combined with inline skating, bikes and graffiti.

The iD show, presented by the Qatar Tourism Authority and SDI Marketing, includes 14 performers from five different countries, who collectively have a wide background in dance, sports and the arts.

The sneak preview was held on the roof of the Renaissance Doha City Center, the show’s hotel partner. In attendance at the preview, His Excellency Andre Dubois, Canada's Ambassador to Qatar said: “We are very pleased to welcome Cirque Éloize to Doha and to share this dynamic and modern expression of Canadian culture with all of Qatar."
