First round of titles in Cinema of World section is released

The Dubai International Film Festival has announced the first round of titles in the Cinema of the World section which has been generating buzz around the world, including Oscar-nominated director of Bennett Miller's Foxcatcher starring Steve Carell and Channing Tatum and BAFTA-nominated director Morten Tyldum's The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly, to name a few!

DIFF's Cinema of the World selection gives the audience a huge variety featuring the world's most anticipated films of this year which are potential contestants for the 2015 Academy Award nominations. This 11th edition DIFC will have everything from previews of Hollywood films to no-budget films from first-time filmmakers.

If you want to know a bit about the movies then here's a rundown of just a few of them.

Foxcatcher is a gripping crime and sports drama recounting the tragic story of wrestling champions played Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo. This movie will definitely have you reaching for those tissues.

The Imitation Game, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightly, is about a genius mathematician who led the charge to solve the German Enigma Code that helped the allies win WWII. The movie picked up the 'The People's Choice' Award at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival so it's worth the watch!

Wild stars Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Nick Horny star in an adventure packed movie based on a novel. After years of reckless behavior, a heroin addiction and the destruction of her marriage, Strayed decides to hike over a thousand miles on the Pacific Crest Trail on her own. This one is going to have you on the edge of your seats.
