Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Postpartum Depression
Chrissy Teigen is known for telling it like it is.
Since the very conception of her daughter Luna, the supermodel has faced backlash online regarding her parenting choice. She's hit back every single time.
Now, Teigen has opened up to her fans and followers once again, posting on Instagram that she's suffered from postpartum depression, a condition that affects many new mothers.
She has relayed a detailed account of her jounrey in Glamour magazine, admitting to becoming a recluse after the birth of daughter Luna in April 2016. She found herself constantly overwhelmed, emotional and exhausted, and was consequently diagnosed with postpartum depression.
The 31-year-old confessed that she felt selfish for feeling the way she did, but is now doing well thanks to anti depressants and therapy.
"My lower back throbbed; my shoulders - even my wrists - hurt. I didn't have an appetite. I would go two days without a bite of food... I couldn't figure out why I was so unhappy," she said.
Teigen went on to emphasize that postpartdum depression doesn't discriminate, and despite having all the help in the world, she still suffered. She also went on to state that she would be visiting a therapist to maintain her newfound peace of mind.
