Chris Martin Delays Gwyneth Paltrow Divorce
Gwyneth Paltrow has been waiting for nearly a year for her ex, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, to respond to her divorce petition.
The actress filed for divorce last April, but the British rock star, 38, has failed to reply and the case remains dormant, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.com
The judge has sent notice that the actress may now be eligible to get a default judgment, which would allow her to get joint custody of their kids Apple, 11 and Moses, nine.
Oscar winner Gwyneth, 43, is reportedly using business managers to privately come to a settlement over the pair's assets.
Her 10-year marriage publicly came to an end in March, 2014 after Gwyneth announced the couple's decision to "consciously uncouple and co-parent" on her website Goop.
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate... We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate," they wrote in a joint statement.
The two have remained friends and they have spoken publicly about their focus on providing the best for their kids, while spending vacations together as a family - last year (15) the former couple two spent Valentine's Day together with the kids in Mexico.
Speaking at a press conference in New York last year (July 15) the actress said: "It's been hard, and you know, like, we've gone through really difficult times with it but we've always said these children are our priority.
'What that really means is, 'Even though today, you hate me and you never want to see me again, like, we're going to brunch, 'cause it's Sunday and that's what we'll do!'"
Chris is yet to comment on the progress of divorce proceedings.
