CHOIX PATISSERIE AND RESTAURANT PAR PIERRE GAGNAIRE, DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY
The atmosphere is light, modern and airy. High ceilings and neutral walls are offset by accents of violet and primrose.
What’s inside the bento box? The concept’s Japanese, but Gagnaire’s is filled with mezze, from falafel to fatoush.
Choix’s terrace offers panoramic views of Dubai. It’s a prime spot from which to watch the sun set over the creek.
Its creator has three Michelin stars. Choix is the second offering from culinary maestro Pierre Gagnaire to be based in the hotel – French restaurant Reflets is in the same property.
The choice of French pastries is unparalleled. They’re simply divine, even though many look too pretty to eat!
Pierre’s Salad isn’t any old pile of leaves. Among its inventive ingredients are Shimizu chicken, aloe vera, tofu and the South Asian citrus fruit pomelo, all drizzled in a passion fruit dressing.
The à la carte menu is fairly substantial. Signature savouries include red croque-monsieur – it’s made on red bread and filled with sun-dried tomatoes and red bell pepper.
Afternoon tea is a popular option. Try the special Choix green tea infused with mango, rose petals and guava.
