Check this out: HAZZAA Al Mansoori wearing a kandoura in space
Hazzaa Al Mansoori is the first Emirati astronaut to travel to the ISS on September 25 making it the 19th country to visit the space station.
Giving the UAE a proud moment, he is seen wearing a kandoura for an Emirati cusine night especially made for his fellow crew members.
He served madrooba (chicken), saloona (lamb) & balaleet (vermicelli with egg omelet).
The Emirati meals, balaleet and saloona are packaged in aluminum cans whilst the madrooba is placed in a tube to be transported into space.
Typically, food is pre-cooked and only requires heating or adding cold/hot water.
Hazza is expected to return tomorrow, landing in Kazakhstan.
Dressed for the occasion! Delighted for the opportunity to share part of our Emirati culture with the crew aboard the ISS. pic.twitter.com/r7sZoRwS89— Hazzaa AlMansoori (@astro_hazzaa) October 1, 2019
