Justin Bieber took a paternity test to prove he’s not the daddy of a fan’s baby last week. Most analysts – and certainly all Beliebers – already think they know he is not the baby daddy, but no one will know for sure until the results come back. As the whole world – Justin and his girlfriend Selena Gomez included – waits in anticipation, Ahlan! takes a look at other celebrities who have been in similar situations...
Kourtney Kardashian and Premo Stallone
When Kourtney and her TV personality boyfriend Scott Disick had little Mason back in 2009, everything looked rosy for the couple. Until a rapper named Premo Stallone, real name Michael Girgenti, came forward claiming to be the father and demanding a paternity test to prove it. He says he had an affair with Kourt nine months before Mason was born, but that Kourtney won’t respond to him. Kourt hasn’t commented on the rumour.
Mel B and Eddir Murphy
Eddie Murphy shocked the world when, speaking about his girlfriend on a TV show, said, “I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test.” The blood test showed he is the father of Spice Girl Mel B’s daughter Angel. Speaking about the comedian soon after Angel was born, Mel said, “I was shocked and then I felt a bit disgusted. I don’t feel humiliated. I think the only person who has humiliated themselves is Eddie.” A point well made.
Steve Bing and Liz Hurley
Most men would be delighted just to meet Liz Hurley, the face of Estée Lauder and star of films including Austin Powers and Bedazzled. But not Steve Bing! The American millionaire refused to admit he was the father of her child, claiming they were, “not in an exclusive relationship when she became pregnant.” Paternity tests later proved he is the father.
Chris Rock and Kali Bowyer
A woman created havoc for comedian Chris Rock by claiming he fathered her teenage son, and selling her story to a tabloid. Chris said in 2007 that she lied about him denying having a paternity test, and took Kali Bowyer to court. DNA testing finally proved Chris is not the father.
Anna Nicole Smith and several others...
In a nice contrast to men doubting their fatherhood, potential baby daddies were literally lining up to claim responsibility for the model’s daughter. Baby Dannielynn’s birth certificate initially had Howard K. Stern, Anna’s personal attorney, as the father. Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband Prince Frederick von Anhalt also made a claim. But DNA tests finally showed Larry Birkhead, a former boyfriend, as the father.
Jude Law and Samantha Burke
The Alfie actor demanded a paternity test from American model Samantha Burke, with who he had a very brief relationship with in 2008. Samantha’s family was livid at the time, saying Jude was not acting like an “English gentleman”. DNA tests later proved that Sophia is in fact Jude’s fourth child. Jude then waited until baby Sophia was five months old before travelling to America to draw up support plans with Samantha and a lawyer.
DMX and Monique Wayne
Despite being married between 1999 and 2010, the American rapper was forced to take two paternity tests with different women in that period, both coming back with positive results. He denied being with Monique Wayne, saying, “I would remember. It ain’t like she’s a pretty girl” but was ordered to pay Dhs18,000 a month in child support fees when the results proved otherwise.
