Kardashians Kash in on Rob’s Kholesterol
Things are far from OK in the Kardashian household, and reclusive Rob is the one who’s feeling victimised. Alongside Kim, Khloé and Kourtney, Kris Jenner’s been accused of fat-shaming her curvy son as well as sharing his private medical history with the world. Even though the youngest Kardashian wasn’t part of the lucrative $100 million deal the others signed with the E! Network, they’ve still been using his mental health and weight battles as a storyline.
Rob Sues Kim over privacy
Unwilling to let his folks profit from his portly frame, Rob is said to be suing the girls for $50 million because they won’t keep schtum about his size or emotional state on telly. A source told a UK tabloid magazine: “Struggling with his weight and rumours of drug abuse and depression, Rob has spent much of the last year out of the public eye. But that didn’t stop his family from broadcasting the reluctant reality star’s problems.” An insider dished: “Even after he has refused to appear on the show his life is used as a storyline. He wants to find an ironclad way to stop them from even mentioning his name on the show, let alone discussing his mental health.”
Kelly’s got Issues
Is the Fashion Police failure eating away her feelings? After years of struggling with her weight, Kelly Osbourne has been called everything from a yo-yo dieter to bulimic. But with her love life down the drain and her career stalling following her resignation from Fashion Police, Kelly’s been comfort eating a fair bit. Star magazine revealed how out of control Kelly, 30, had become with her once-healthy lifestyle going out the window. “She’s been packing on the pounds at an alarming rate,” it reported last month.“Kelly’s love life has been terrible and it’s really affected her confidence. She’s been comfort-eating, boozing, and not exercising at all, but she pretends she doesn’t care.” Sources say Kelly “wants to rebel against the image-conscious world of Hollywood.” The insider added: “Kelly has packed on at least 15lb, she always says she’s going to get a healthy diet, but finds a reason to postpone.”
Osbourne Kicks Off
Recent pictures of Kelly clearly show that she may have gained a few pounds in the past few weeks, but she also looks extremely happy. It’s clear that the TV star’s also acutely aware of people discussing her weight gain and recently posted a note on Instagram aimed at her critics that read: “Before you criticise somebody else try to keep in mind that you are probably a piece of s***.”
Bublé’s Bubble Has Burst
Michael Bublé clearly isn’t as smooth as he thinks he is. The singer’s been forced to apologise after upsetting fans by uploading and ridiculing a photo of a stranger’s scantily clad derrière on social media.
The Haven’t Met You Yet crooner shared the rear-view shot of the unsuspecting woman, stating: “There was something about this photo Lu took that seemed worthy of Instagram.” Michael’s wife, Luisana Lopilato, took the pic on a recent trip to Miami, but it was his added hashtags “MyHumps”, “BabyGotBack” and “HungryShorts” that sparked a storm of protest from followers. One outraged fan asked: “Would you say what you hashtagged to her face?” and another wrote: “I guess money can’t buy class.”
Singer says he’s really Sorry
The debate continued through the week, compelling Bublé to release a statement in the hope of ending the war of words. He said: “Anybody who knows me would never misinterpret the message of the photo my wife took that seems to have caused unexpected rage by some people. I realise that a photo that was meant to be complimentary and lighthearted has turned into a questionable issue.” Michael continued: “For the record, it hurts me deeply that anyone would think that I would disrespect women or be insulting to any human being. Women are to be celebrated, loved, respected, honoured and revered.”
P!nk Fires Back at All of Her Weight Haters
P!nk has never been the shy type, so it was no surprise when the mother-of-one hit out after some people said she wore an unflattering dress to a charity event last week. P!nk, real name Alecia Moore, posted a lengthy note on Twitter to address the “concerns” made by some of the negative tweeters.
Don’t Worry About P!nk
The singer wrote: “I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You’re referring to the pictures of me from last night’s cancer benefit that I attended to support my dead friend Dr Maggie Dinome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you.” Alecia continued: “While I admit that the dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about my. I’m not worried about me and I’m not worried about you either. I’m perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy-strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern. Love, cheesecake.” The well-written letter struck a chord with her fans, many of whom congratulated her for taking the high ground.
Selena Is Slated
Selena Gomez has quite visibly put on a little bit of weight of late, but she is by no means unhealthy or a cause for concern. Still, that didn’t stop trolls attacking the singer after she debuted her fuller figure in a bright-pink bikini during her Mexico vacation. Many of the disparaging comments came from the media – TMZ.com said: “Things are getting thick down in Mexico”, while Inquistr.com headlined its article “Hot or Hefty?”
Actress feels ‘super-stoked’
Some comments from Twitter users labelled her a “fat little chipmunk” and a “fatty” but the strong 22-year-old singer defied their criticisms and took to her Instagram account to show off her enviable figure during the trip, posting a sultry photograph of herself in a cut-out black swimsuit reclining on a sunlounger. The brunette beauty captioned the image: “I love being happy with me yall #TheresMoreToLove.” The Spring Breakers actress showed off her toned thighs and flat stomach and revealed she’s completely at ease with her body. Speaking about herself recently, she said: “I think this year is going to be incredible – I feel the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m super-stoked that I’ve got some bumps on me, some scars, some bruises. I actually really love that.”
Rebel Rages Against the Fashion Machine
As a plus-size actress, Rebel Wilson’s put up with more than her fair share of mean comments since becoming a star. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old’s still fighting to make people aware that skinniness isn’t the only measure of beauty. At the MTV Movie Awards last month, she poked fun at Victoria’s Secret models by taking to the stage in white angel wings and a bedazzled bustier bra teamed with leather leggings with the word “Think” emblazoned across the rear. Speaking about her statement look, she said: “I think sometimes girls look at Victoria’s Secret models and think that they have to model themselves after that, but I really don’t think that’s the best. “Even though they’re called ‘models’, they’re not the best people to model yourself after. I like to encourage girls to think, which is why I put that on my butt. It’s really about what’s up here [points to head], and not what’s here [points to backside].”
Wilson wore Dubai Designs
The inventive outfit was designed in the UAE. “This [bedazzled bra] was actually handmade by Spanky in Dubai, who did a lot of Lady Gaga’s outfits”, she joked, adding, “I appreciate them for putting a lot of work and effort into this last minute.” Rebel’s not the only person campaigning against skinny models – she has the full support of France. The stylish nation’s just passed a law banning the use of anorexic women and girls in the fashion world. Legislator Olivier Veran, who championed the measure, said: “It’s not just about protecting the models but also teenagers, because this body image pressure also affects them and contributes to the emergence of eating disorders and tendencies to eat less and less.” The new law forbids anyone with a body mass index below a certain level – a system based on height and weight which doctors use – from earning money as a model. Under the rules, any person who pays a model whose weight falls below that score could face up to six months in jail.
