Career: Sophie was discovered by Vogue stylist Isabella Blow, who found her crying on her doorstep after an argument with her mother. At first she was celebrated for her voluptuous curves, but after a couple of years in the business she shrank to standard model proportions. She has appeared on the covers of British and Italian Vogue and has appeared in campaigns for Versace, Alexander McQueen, Pringle and Godiva, among others. She has written two novels, The Man with the Dancing Eyes, and Playing with the Grown-ups. In 2009 she published a cook book, Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights, and in 2010 her six-part cookery series, The Delicious Miss Dahl, aired on BBC television.

Relationships: She married singer and pianist Jamie Cullum on 9 January 2010 and their daughter, Lyra, was born on 2 March 2011.

FYI: Sophie is the granddaughter of the author Roald Dahl, and she was the inspiration for Sophie, the main character in his book The BFG.
