Career: Enrique’s self-titled debut album was released in 1995 and won him a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance. He quickly became one of the most popular artists in Latin America and the biggest seller of Spanish language albums of the decade. By 1999 he had become a popular crossover artist and his single Bailamos was a number one US hit. He released his first English CD, Enrique, in 1999, but it was the follow-up album, Escape, that was his biggest success to date. Enrique has also worked as an actor. In 2003 he appeared in the action film Once Upon a Time in Mexico, and he in 2007 he guest starred in the TV comedy Two and a Half Men.
Relationships: He started dating tennis star Anna Kournikova in 2001, after she appeared in his video Escape. Over the years there have been repeated rumours that they have either married or split up, but in 2010 Anna confirmed that they had been together for over eight years and have no plans to marry.
FYI: In 2008 Enrique appeared alongside Britney Spears, Pink and Beyoncé in an elaborate TV commercial for Pepsi in which he played a Roman emperor.
