Career: Ben started his career in the theatre and made his big screen debut in 1987 in Empire of the Sun. By 1994 he had saved up enough money to make his own film, Reality Bites - now a cult classic starring Winona Ryder and Ethan Hawke. He went on to direct Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy, but it’s his roles in There’s Something About Mary, Zoolander and Meet the Parents that brought him global fame.

Relationships: After a long-term relationship with actress Jeanne Tripplehorn, he married actress Christine Taylor in 2000. They have two children: Ella Olivia, born on 10th April 2002 and Quinlin Dempsey, born on 10th July 2005.

FYI: Ben is the leader of “The Frat Pack”: a group of actors including Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, who have worked together on a number of films.
