Celebirty Surgery Revealed
Kylie Komes Klean!
At 17-years-old Kylie Jenner is perhaps too young to be having any surgical treatments, but even more worrying is the effect her example has had on her teenage impressionable fans. Last week Kylie admitted, after months of speculation about her fuller lips, that she had in fact sought surgical assistance for her look. “I have temporary lip fillers, it’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do." The reality TV star said that being in the public eye made her self-conscious about her appearance. “Everyone always picks us apart. I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judge me on everything, so I might have tiptoed around the truth, but I didn't lie.”
Kylie’s plump lips became such a topic of conversation that her fans started copying her and created a hashtag called #KylieJennerChallenge where people went to ridiculous and even dangerous lengths to create large pouty lips. Dr Ricardo Ferla, of The Private Clinic in Jumeirah, told Ahlan! exclusively: “Extreme versions of the challenge have seen young people inserting their lips into a small jar or bottle, then suck out the air, creating a vacuum. But many attempts go awry with people ending up with bruises, soreness and even torn skin.” Dr Ferla, who is Triple Board Certified with the Brazilian Plastic Surgery Society, adds: “This new trend in do-it-yourself lip plumping is very risky. Aside from the significant pain there is also a real risk of bursting blood vessels, scarring and other permanent disfigurements.”
Is Khloé Faking It?
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Kylie has succumbed to altering her appearance especially if she’s been following the lead of her influential older sister Khloé Kardashian. The 30-year-old has managed to transform her body into a curvy and toned machine whilst simultaneously increasing the size of her derriere. While KoKo claims her new body is purely down to hard hours spent in the gym, others suspect she may have had some medical assistance – and Dr Ferla thinks they may be right. “It’s very possible [Khloé] has had buttock augmentation of some sort. Considering the more shapely waist and larger derrière, I would say most likely a Brazilian butt lift procedure. This is now the standard surgery for contouring the bum and hips,” he explained.
“We use liposuction to remove fat from the waist, hips or thighs, creating the right curves and profile, then treat and inject the fat that was removed back into the buttocks to create more prominence and a fuller shape. This method has overtaken the use of implants, and accounts for the majority of my cases.” Although the procedure is growing in popularity Dr Ferla still insists there are some dangers to getting it done. “I would warn against anyone considering silicone or Hydrogel injections for body contouring – we have seen some cases where patients have been deformed by Hydrogel forming lumps and unfortunately we cannot remove it once it is in the body.”
Gaga & Mickey’s Face Fillers
Lady Gaga’s famous for experimenting with her wardrobe, but did you know she treats her face with the same attitude too? The pop star revealed to shock jock Howard Stern how she became addicted to having fillers injected into her face. “I’ve never had any work-work done, but I went through a phase when I was really obsessed with getting facial injections,” she said. “I was going to this strip mall in Chicago in the back. Everybody was like, ‘You are a nut job’. I wasn’t exactly in the best frame of mind, I’d have some drinks and I’d be like, ‘Oh, let’s go see my girl’ and we would drive to this strip mall and I would get shot up with a bunch of whatever, Juvederm, and then leave.”
Luckily for Gaga, 29, her face doesn’t show any long-term effects of her Juvederm addiction, but the same cannot be said for veteran actor Mickey Rourke. At 62, Mickey has had more faces than a dice, yet his latest incarnation is the most bizzare. The Wrestler actor was spotted out last week sporting a strange new haircut, smooth skin and an all-round puffier face. Rourke’s consistently changing appearance is one that he has in the past blamed on surgery that was needed to fix his features following a brief career as a professional boxer. He told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Most of it was to mend the mess of my face because of the boxing, but I went to the wrong guy to put my face back together.” So have you finally found Mr Right then, Mickey?
