Catch Up with Kris Fade: Living it Up
This week I went to a very inspiring dinner for the Live it Up Foundation. It raises money for Uganda for education for kids that otherwise wouldn’t be able to go to school. Every month they put on an intimate dinner with a guest of honour, which this time was yours truly, which was really nice! We dined in a private room at The Ivy restaurant. There were some really cool people there who do a lot for charity, including the lady who started Adopt-a-camp, Saher Shaikh, which helps labourers in the region. Everybody pays money to be there, which then goes to the charity. We chatted a bit about everybody’s journeys, including mine, and it was a great event. This week I also chatted to American R‘n’B singer Jason Derulo. He’s cool and he’s heading to Dubai to perform with Alicia Keys on 15 November. He recently broke his neck, which was thought would end his career, but he’s back and doing really well. This week was also the closing party at Dubai club Cirque le Soir and I hosted a battle of the DJs. And while everybody else seems to be shipping out for the summer, I am staying here! I love it; it’s really quiet and I’ll be going away later in the year instead.
