Billy Crystal is back to host the Oscars for the ninth time

Our telly plans for Oscar night 2012 are sorted - Fox Movies will be bringing the 84 Academy Awards live to Middle East viewers for the fourth year running.  

Hosted for the ninth time by Billy Crystal, the show will be broadcast live from Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre covering everything from the red carpet arrivals to the preshow to the actual awards ceremony.  

There’s also a lot of special programming on Fox Movies in February, part of the ‘Month of the Oscars’ on the channel. As part of the celebration, 27 of the best Academy Award-winning movies will be aired throughout the month on the channel. The Reader (17 February, 2am UAE time), as well legendary Oscar winners such as Titanic, Chicago, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Up, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo are among the top choices you can catch.

INFO: The 84 Academy Awards will be broadcast live on Fox Movies from Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre on February 27 - red carpet arrivals at 2am UAE time, preshow at 4am UAE time and the awards ceremony at 5.30 am UAE time.  

A repeat broadcast will begin during primetime on February 27, with the preshow at 5pm UAE time and the Academy Awards red carpet arrivals starting at 8pm UAE time.
