Catch, Fairmont Dubai
Take a bite out of the Big Apple. Catch’s interior reflects that of the hip flagship restaurant in NYC. With leather, brick walls and exposed ceilings, it is the epitome of industrial chic.
Spot a celebrity. Having hosted the likes of Brad Pitt, David Beckham and power couple Beyoncé and Jay Z at its Stateside location, its reputation drew rapper Lil Jon to the Dubai outpost within a few weeks of its opening.
Fish lovers, take note. A raw bar with sushi and sashimi complements the predominantly seafood menu, which is peppered with Asian and Middle Eastern accents.
Make room for the mushrooms. Whether you’re vegetarian or not, try the mushroom pasta. Seriously, with a dish this good, boasting fully rounded and creamy flavours, you don’t even need the meat.
Have a go at playing chef. Order the ‘Wagyu on the rock’ from the raw bar and cook the slivers of Wagyu – seasoned with sesame, yuzu soy and garlic oil – yourself, on a hot stone that’s delivered to your table.
One is enough for two. The menu is on the pricier side, but when you take into account that each dish is served in American-size portions, sharing makes dining here a financially sound choice!
