The UAE-based ground transportation technology startup is

With Careem’s recent expansion, everyone in Abu Dhabi, Dubai
and Doha can order a chauffeur-driven car (typically a Lexus or
www.careem.com or through
Careem’s mobile apps on iPhone and Android smartphones. Once
ordered, the car can be tracked in real-time on the smartphone and
payment is directly deducted from the user’s credit card on file.
Think reliable and seamless!
Careem was started in July 2012 by tech entrepreneurs Magnus
Olsson and Mudassir Sheikha, who were both frustrated by the lack
of dependable and convenient ground transportation options in their
travels across the Middle East, and resolved to solve them for all
region-trotters and residents alike.
As Magnus puts it, “The lack of street addresses and
less-educated drivers makes the Middle East challenging. We have
finally managed to overcome those challenges and are offering a
world-class experience to clients.”
And Careem's customers have been super-happy! According to data
from the company, 99 per cent of all trips have been on time, and
95 per cent of all trips get the highest satisfaction ratings.
Also, depending upon the ride, Careem might not be a whole lot
more expensive than a taxi. On-demand trips cost a minimum of Dhs40
(US $11), while those booked in advance, like an airport trip, cost
a minimum of Dhs75 (US $21).
