With décor featuring natural wood, textured stone and bold contemporary lines, Caramel is popular with a winding-down post-work crowd from the surrounding DIFC.
DJ Kirk is on the decks nightly, and while during the week it’s quiet enough to hold a conversation, things ramp up a notch on the weekends, when the place is popular with the party crowd.
Originally the venue was brought to Dubai from the group behind Caramel at the glam Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, and while it’s no longer associated with its US counterpart, it holds on to its chic American style. Highlights of the cocktail list are the espresso martini and strawberry fizz, while there’s also a food menu of what are described as ‘petite plates’. Try the TNT Shrimp (Dhs120) or Chicken Lettuce Bites (Dhs75).
While you’re more likely to rub shoulders with a banker than a celebrity, a few stars have visited including glam actress Mischa Barton and football legend and Dubai resident Diego Maradona. This centrally-located venue is one place that seems to never dull with time or the ever-growing culinary bar circuit in DIFC.
