Following an impressive 20-year career and some of Hollywood's most iconic characters, Cameron Diaz famously announced that she’d be taking an acting hiatus back in 2014 after the remake of the musical, Annie.
Bad news Cameron Diaz fans: she just revealed that it’s still going to be a long time before we see her back the big screen again, if at all.
In a recent interview with InStyle, Cameron said she’s enjoying living life low-key with her family away from the spotlight and doesn’t miss acting. “I started (experiencing fame) when I was 22, so 25 years ago - that’s a long time! The way I look at it is that I’ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it’s OK for me to take time for myself now to reorganise and choose how I want to come (back) into the world. If I decide to. I don’t miss performing.”
Cameron adds, "It’s fun to just not have anybody know what I’m up to. Because my time is mine. I’m not selling any films, and because I’m not selling anything, I don’t have to give anybody anything. I’m not doing this anymore. I’m living my life."
Despite that, she isn’t completely ruling out the idea of a comeback in the far future, but as of right now, she’s dipping her toes in other projects. She reveals she’s hoping to be the next Gwyneth Paltrow, thanks to her passion for wellness. She also said she’s intrigued by the idea of fashion design and wants to do something she is “passionate about and something that just feels effortless.”
Must be nice having a job that's "effortless", eh?
