Calvin Harris Scores Fifth UK Number One Single
Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has scored his fifth UK number one single this week with his track Blame featuring English singer John Newman.
Responding to the news Calvin tweeted "We're number 1! Thank you so much," The DJ is currently working hard on his upcoming fourth album as well as undertaking a Las Vegas residency with dates across Sin City.
The single is Calvin's third within a year already following his 2013 hit Under Control and monster track Summer. The tally doesn't even including tracks the superstar DJ featured such as ex-girlfriend Rita Ora's smash I will never let you down.
Calvin's split from Rita has been the talk of tabloid columns in recent weeks after it was revealed the DJ halted the Roc Nation beauty from performing on the Teen Awards as well as withdrew the tracks he'd made with Rita from her upcoming album, forcing Rita to delay the planned release altogether.
It appears the British singer isn't keen to talk about her recent trouble either after she recently walked away from multiple red carpet interviews when asked about the rift. However following her (non televised ) performance of the single Rita spoke out to Billboard about Calvin's actions saying: "I don't control other people's minds, especially if they've written a great song...I couldn't care less that I couldn't perform it -- it was about my fans being disappointed, and that's my nightmare. But I'm sure I'll perform it three years from now. It's a part of me. I'm not going to deny that."
Blame is expected to appear on the DJ's upcoming fourth album.
