Calling All Dancing Queens in the UAE!
Not Abba but very like them!

From Waterloo to Thank you for the Music, Abba tunes get everyone dancing, and this weekend one of the UK's top tribute acts are playing in Dubai! Abba Revival: The Tribute, will perform at Wafi's roofgardens, and we caught up with Lisa from the group!

She revealed that just like in the real Abba, she's married to one of the other group members!

She's Frida in the group, alongside husband John who plays Benny! Then there's Nina Clarke as Agnetha and Marcus Tate as Bjorn. They travel the world performing, and have even got replica costumes made, which they manage to cram into one suitcase.

She said: "We produce an authentic Abba look by recreating original handmade costumes and meticulously studying the original band. We all look similar to our characters which also makes a big difference, also John and me are married in real life, just like Abba!"

It's not the group's first trip to Dubai, and they've done some pretty huge gigs.

"We absolutely love Dubai and our act always goes down really well, people dance and sing along and there is always a huge queue for photos after the show which we always love being a part of," revealed Lisa. "We are especially looking forward to visiting this time as we have just returned from Lithuania where the temperature was a chilling -25c! We can't wait to feel the sun on our faces and defrost our toes!

"Our biggest gig so far has been a huge outdoor event in the centre of Liverpool in the UK, there were in excess of 300,000 people. We also performed at  Maltese Independence Day. There were 20,000 watching and the show went out live on tv to a further million."

So what is it about Abba that makes the continue to get people flocking to see tributes? "The music is simply timeless and never fails to get an amazing reaction from audiences all over the world," said Lisa. "The music is so varied and is a pleasure, as professional musicians, to play and sing."
