Buzzing Bahrain

The Kingdom of Bahrain is heading for a revival...
Tuesday , 12 July 2011

When you hear people mention Bahrain, the first thing you think about is the political situation in the region. However, despite recent troubles, the Middle Eastern hotspot is heading for a revival and is only a 45-minute flight from the UAE. The flights are ridiculously cheap and the hotels are reasonably priced, so what better way to escape the Emirate than by hopping on a plane to arrive in another country in less than an hour!

The Kingdom Of Bahrain is a surprise; with inviting seas and sandy beaches, the archipelago of 40 islands has a vast array of hideaways to make any weekend break an enjoyable one. There are just a handful of five-star hotels on the main island but the one that stands out is the Mövenpick Bahrain. It’s just five minutes from the airport and has views over the lagoon, the pool is amazing and is perfect for laying back and tanning those stresses away.

The hotel has the nation’s favourite Friday brunch attracting people from all across the Kingdom, who head to the venue to socialise before heading over to Mai Tai Lounge Trader Vic’s, and Cocoon later on. There are a large number of expats that live in the region, which makes for an enjoyable evening as the party is never dull. However, the best part of this place is to just kick back and unwind so that when you fly back Sunday morning you’re nice and refreshed as you head into work from the airport!
