Who’d have thought an economist and an urban planner would co-found The Dinner Club 57? A further extension of our pop-up underground supper-clubs has been the unveiling of No FiftySeven Boutique Café.
Being social-media savvy definitely helps spread the word. We’re most active on Instagram. All our sneak peeks and updates are posted there.
We always think of inventive locations and concepts for our pop-up dinners. Like the  picture-perfect set-up under Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi  we created for Tod’s .
There is a big learning curve when opening a restaurant we didn’t know what we didn’t know! Thank goodness we had one another, our families and great staff to count on.
There is very little down-time, but we love to try new recipes and share meals with family and friends. As a visual creative, Noor’s constantly looking for new fonts.
We try to limit our intake of No FiftySeven chocolate milkshakes and truffle fries. It’s difficult!
Years ago, when we initially began planning our café, we found it frustrating that the process was taking much longer than we anticipated. Looking back, that delay was such a blessing. We were able to begin The Dinner Club, which has grown into its own business.
After each dinner, Noor creates a shadow box incorporating the event’s printed invitation. They’re a great visual reminder of how far we’ve come and what fun we have hosting.
Each day there’s a new challenge to solve; but we’re now more comfortable managing our full-time jobs, The Dinner Club and the café.
