BUSHMAN’S RESTAURANT & BAR, ANANTARA DUBAI THE PALM RESORT & SPA
Get adventurous with your meat. Bugs, kangaroo, crocodile and emu are some of the exotic dish options available on the menu. Go for the Australian antipasto sharing platter if you fancy trying some of them, but don’t want to fully commit to a whole dish.
Head to the bush with the surroundings. The restaurant’s interior is like a posh Australian shack with all of the quintessential items – think thick ropes, wire mesh lampshades, boomerangs, tribal markings and a cork-festooned ceiling.
Get your art fix. The Des Spencer works on display feature bright scenes of the Sydney harbour and the Aussie outback, and provide a colourful pop to the otherwise rustic vibe.
Watch your dessert being created by the chef. The constructed Australian Pavlova with meringue, chocolate soil, fresh fruits and Davidson plum sorbet among other treats, are artistically splattered onto your table by the chef. Watch out for when the mangoes get blowtorched.
Look across the water to the Burj Al Arab. The feel may be Aussie, but one of Dubai’s – and the world’s – most famous landmarks stands in full glory just across the sea, from the outside terrace.
