Brunch Review: Brunchology At Yalumba, Le Meridien Dubai

Yalumba Brunch is, simply put, an institution. Known for serving up a creative feast, with dishes from every corner of the world, along with free flowing drinks and a guaranteed post-brunch dance. We had heard all about the Yalumba reputation, and simply couldn’t wait to try it out for ourselves!

For brunch, we gather a lively group of friends and make the pilgrimage from Dubai Media City to the airport-adjacent hotel.

As we’re shown to our table, with a welcome drink in hand, the first things we notice are the party hats and leis – this is going to be a party, indeed.

After donning our party-wear, we take a wander around the buffet. We have no idea where to start. Do we do a Dubai brunch classic and kick things off with an indulgent seafood platter? Or should we take a culinary trip to Asia, with a plate full of sushi? We decide to combine both (brilliant) ideas, and make our way back to the table with a plate piled high with super-fresh seafood and sushi.

As well as indulging on buffet options, you can also order a la carte dishes from the brunch menu. We can’t resist a few portions of dynamite shrimp – a must order! – and our dining partner orders traditional brunch dish, eggs Benedict.

It’s around about this time that the waiting staff come over with a few jelly drinks and frozen treats, distracting us from the lamb roast that we had told ourselves we’d be trying next.

Throughout the afternoon, the room gets livelier and livelier, with the tables beside us getting up to dance as the wandering musicians make their way through the dining area.

And as brunch winds down, we make our way over to the VERY indulgent dessert tables – yes, tables! With a bowl of pick’n’mix in hand, we treat ourselves to a mini crème brûlée and some macarons. We also have to make a cheese plate for the table to tuck into... when at brunch, eh?
