BRITNEY SPEARS' trial for driving without a license has been scrapped, after a Van Nuys, California jury failed to reach an unanimous decision.
After more than two days of deliberating, jurors returned to court on Tuesday to reveal they were deadlocked, with two members voting guilty, and 10 not guilty - forcing the judge to declare a mistrial.
Prosecutors now have to decide whether to ask for a retrial.
After declaring the mistrial, Judge James Steele dismissed a criminal charge against the pop star.
Brit was on trial for driving without a valid California license.
Earlier this month the singer rejected a plea deal that would have saved the case from going to trial - because it would have left her with a criminal record.
