Katie Pattison-Hart wowed us last year when she rowed across the Atlantic to break two Guinness World Records. And now she’s back with her friend James Elliot-Square for another jaw-dropping challenge...

Katie Pattison-Hart and James Elliot-Square plan to row for 24 hours and break the 300 kilometres barrier in an attempt to raise funds for ex-rugby player Moe Khalfaji, who is suffering from cancer. The record-breaking row will take place at The Shack in Dubai on 19 April 2013. For more details on Moe’s charity and to donate log onto mycause.com.au/page/doeformoe

“When I’m training hard I treat the food as fuel and try and eat clean – sweet potato, brown rice, broccoli, fish...”

“The last time I did a 24-hour row I was in training to row the Atlantic, and we did it on a two-hour shift system. This time it will be on a one-hour shift system. This means shorter, harder sessions with less recovery time.”

“If the goals are set with passion and self belief, and you put in the hard work, then I believe that anything is possible. Positive thought and an inner strength is so powerful.”

“During the challenge, I’ll use Elete electrolyte in my water to rehydrate and will snack on high-calorie fresh foods, such as fruit and nuts. I will also get calories from liquid forms like a protein shake to help with muscle recovery.”
