Boyfriend Pays Tribute to Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse’s grieving boyfriend Reg Traviss has paid tribute to his former love, speaking about her final days. As he accompanied Amy’s distraught parents, Mitch and Janis, and her brother Alex, to greet mourners outside the star’s London home he revealed that the singer had seemed “upbeat” and “full of life” in her final days.
He told The Sun that she had been looking forward to attending a friend’s wedding on Sunday (24 July), the day after her death, and deciding what to wear. “She had laid out her dresses to make up her mind. She was really looking forward to it,” he said. “She has been full of life and so upbeat recently, exercising every day and doing yoga. This terrible thing that happened is like an accident.”
He went on to describe the past three days as “hell”. “I can't describe what I am going through and I want to thank so much all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy – such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love. I have lost my darling who I loved very much.”
Although a post mortem examination on Monday (25 July) failed to determine the cause of Winehouse's death, the singer was buried at a private funeral on Tuesday (26 July).
