Experience France’s famed joie de vivre without leaving the UAE. The ever-popular Le Mardi C’est Permis night on Tuesdays is an homage to the best of Gallic cuisine and paired with French fizz.
The décor is more Parisian living room than Dubai-luxe. Taking its style cues from the French capital, it’s an ever-so-chic mix of old and new – think rich wood floors, sumptuous china blue sofas, floral prints and stylish artworks.
Traditional French ingredients are prepared with a modern flourish, courtesy of chef Timothy Newton. Highlights from the ever-evolving seasonal menu include the signature poulet rôti entier à la truffe (that’s whole roast chicken with truffle, foie gras, wild mushrooms, potatoes grand-mère and a side of sourdough to non-French speakers), foie gras sliders and tuna tartare.
Go there for the ambiance as well as the food. There’s a weekly line up of live music, and no two nights are the same. Taking its cue from Bagatelle’s sister venue in Miami, sing along to rock and pop from the 80s and 90s every Wednesday. Or channel your inner Brigitte Bardot while listening to classic French hits from the 60s to 90s at Unplugged, which takes place on Saturdays from 8pm.
The decadent tipsy cake for dessert. It’s a homemade brioche with chocolate sauce, salted caramel and pistachio crème Anglaise.
