Bieber and Gomez Battle Again
Feuds with his fans and his ex drive Justin to shut down his social media account
It looks like we won’t be seeing any more selfies of Justin Bieber and new love interest Sofia Richie anytime soon, after the singer followed through with his threats to make his Instagram account private due to online trolls. The drama kicked off when Bieber captioned a snap of him and 17-year-old Richie with, “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate. This is getting out of hand. If you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”
Forgetting his Fans
Earlier this year, the pop star announced that he would no longer do meet-and-greets or snap pictures with fans, so his once loyal followers were quick to turn on him after he threatened to quit the social media app, leaving comments like “I love you, but I give up on you!” and “Go and make your account private we don’t care, you are full of lies”. Though Justin probably expected a backlash from his fans, he did not foresee his feisty ex Selena Gomez wading into the drama…
Slayed by Selena
With thousands of angry comments and anti-Justin hashtags trending on Twitter, things went from bad to worse for Biebs as Selena, evidently still seething from his wrongdoings during their on/off relationship, posted, “If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend LOL. It should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you and supported you before anyone ever did”.
The feud showed no sign of ending there, with Bieber retaliating by accusing his ex of using him for attention. This obviously hit a nerve with the Kill Em With Kindness singer, who responded with, “Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love.” Selena then went on to post a fan-loving photo on her own acccount, before Justin fired back, “I cheated… oh, I forgot about you and Zayn?”, bringing former One Directioner Zayn Malik into the spat. We can’t keep up! However it was later revealed that the comment was fake, and both Justin's and Selena's management denied the statement.
Unsurprisingly, Justin’s account quickly became private, but instead of mourning, ex-fans took to Twitter with the hashtag #JustinDeactivatedParty. However, Selena seemed to be feeling remorseful soon after, posting a snapchat saying, “What I said was selfish and pointless”. Is it too late to say Sorry, Biebs?
